Dear Danville Families,

It's that time of year again, and I couldn't be more excited to invite you and your family to our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway & Pep Rally!

As a proud Danville native, it means a great deal to return home and invest in the community that helped shape me. Through The Talent Showcase, I'm proud to lead this community celebration in partnership with the Danville Family YMCA and the Harry Johnson Foundation to bring local families a day filled with free school supplies, community resources, live entertainment, youth activities, and fun for the entire family.

I'm especially grateful to Chris Johnson and the Harry Johnson Foundation for continuing the legacy of his father, Coach Harry Johnson. Coach Johnson dedicated his life to serving young people and strengthening the Danville community. His commitment to helping others continues to inspire generations, and we're honored to celebrate that legacy by helping students start the school year encouraged, prepared, and ready to succeed.

We're also grateful for the support of outstanding community partners like The Home Depot, who will host a hands-on Kids Workshop, and the Cheer Extreme Elite Competition Team, whose talented athletes will help bring our pep rally to life with exciting performances and school spirit.

We're excited to welcome a special lineup of community leaders and athletes, including:

Together with our community partners, volunteers, sponsors, and special guests, we're looking forward to celebrating Danville's students and helping them kick off another successful school year.
